At different times in a person’s or a company’s life, they find themselves in situations which need comprehensive legal advice. At some point in time everyone is involved in the purchase of a home or a property, or has to deal with hidden defects in a property after purchase, a traffic accident, an unpaid debt, an inheritance, a family plot of land that they want to give to a developer in exchange for some residential properties, company incorporation and administration etc. Are we always aware of our rights when dealing with insurance companies, banks, the public administration, suppliers, clients etc.?

Legal consultancy

International:

We advise companies and individuals at international level (Europe, the USA, the American continent, Eastern bloc countries).

Commercial Law:

Ongoing consultancy to companies, businesses, self-employed people, shops etc.

Civil:

Debt recovery management, actions for payment, inheritances, mortgages, separations and divorces, contracts in general (sales, leases, purchase options, loans, hidden defects, action against builders, execution of foreign sentences, etc.)

Criminal:

Criminal actions, complaints, oral proceedings, legal assistance in the event of arrest.

Traffic accidents:

We get the compensation that clients are entitled to by law. We inform them about their rights, and stop insurance companies from paying clients much less compensation than they are legally entitled to.

Administrative – Town Planning:

We deal with all the different problems that can arise with the Administration in general: fines, administrative offences etc, at local (town councils and provincial administration), autonomous and state level.

Investments

JLCA & As.-Lawyers has launched the "Investment Department", a new service whose objective is to help investors buy in Spain (properties at a good price, land, business premises, hotels etc). We must stress the fact that we are not a real estate agency, as we channel investments for sector professionals in Spain and from abroad, but we do not act on behalf of individuals who want to buy a home for residential purposes.

The Department’s staff advise investors on the reliability and viability of their prospective purchase. This is done by preparing a financial study, a profitability study, and a report on banks and taxes, in collaboration with consultants, economists and, of course, lawyers.

Trademark registration

We provide our clients with legal advice on how to protect the trademark (products and services) of their company, business, office etc, in Spain and in the European Union (protection in 27 countries), as well as at international level. In today’s world, globalisation and the Internet have made it of prime importance to register trademarks to prevent encroachment from third parties anywhere in the world.

Alicante has become one of the most important trademark capital's of the world. In 1994 the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM), whose task is to register Community trademarks and Community designs for the 27 Community countries, was established here. The Office began to hear of "cases" in 2000, and in 2004 the Community Trademark Court was set up. Consequently our office is well placed to offer rapid and competitive services in this sector, as well as providing registration services, and the legal consultancy needed to represent our clients in any legal proceedings, or cases brought before the OHIM.
